As the sun rises on another year at Columbia University, Crown & Cross is excited to recommence our blog, Crosswords. We welcome new and old students back to campus, as well as readers both near and far. Summer may no longer be the season for leisure it was when we were kids, but there still exists a degree of removal and respite from the culture of our school. We spend our summers immersed in our jobs, internships, studies abroad, families, and hometowns, and we let our mental energy trickle off campus and into those other pieces of our lives. As we return to campus and begin the fall semester, we are eager to see what God has in store for our journal and our university.
For several years now, Columbia Crown & Cross has provided a platform for Christians on campus to offer responses to and thoughts on the world around us from a biblical perspective. We contemplate the social tensions we see in our city everyday and look to the timeless teachings of our faith to address our concerns. Moreover, we endeavor to ponder deeply the reasons why we believe what we believe. We don’t claim to have the definitive answers—instead we search for them with Christ as our guide. We invite you to join us as we experience this new semester together.
